Phyllis Guenther is a seasoned teacher with 30 years of experience. She has a passion for creating a variety of things, from quilts to educational content tailored to younger students who may need a little extra help grasping concepts.
Originally from the bayous of southwest Louisiana, Phyllis proudly describes herself as "Cajun born and bred" and enjoys living a simple life, embracing all that comes with it. Her evenings wouldn’t be complete without jambalaya, crawfish, or gumbo. She fondly recalls sitting on an ice chest, using a string with a chicken neck to pull in crabs—a symbol of a simpler time.
She attended both public and Catholic schools and was active in volleyball, track, and softball. In those days, athletes were required to maintain a 90+ average to play, and she remembers spending an entire six weeks in the stands, doing homework and studying while watching her peers compete.
Phyllis went on to study at LSU, McNeese State, and Lesley University. Now, "I am very happy to be in DD4" she says, where one of her goals is to create digital content for ELA in grades K-2, aiming to make learning a little easier for both students and teachers.
