A new school brings many firsts, and Woodland Middle School added another to the list by hosting its first-ever pep rally on Friday. The event was a vibrant celebration of school spirit, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting year.
As students filed into the gym, the atmosphere was electric. The PTSO had transformed the space with blue and green balloons and streamers, creating a festive backdrop for the occasion. Music from a DJ filled the air, blending classic tunes with modern hits, further fueling the excitement.
Students showed their enthusiasm by holding up signs they had made, while the faculty and staff were decked out in their Wolves gear, embodying the school spirit. Principal Kennedy, along with Assistant Principals Bryant and Busby, took the opportunity to recognize students who had been nominated by their peers for their hard work and dedication.
The highlight of the rally was the spirited competition for the coveted spirit stick. Each class had a chance to prove that they were the most spirited, and in the end, it was the 8th graders who emerged victorious, claiming the first spirit stick of the year.
Principal Kennedy closed the rally with encouraging words for the Woodland Middle School football team, wishing them luck as they prepared to compete in the inaugural Dorchester County Middle School Football Jamboree on Saturday.
Overall, the pep rally was a resounding success, uniting the school community and igniting a sense of pride and excitement that will carry on throughout the year.
