Dorchester School District 4 is delighted to continue its "Everyday Hero" employee recognition program, celebrating the exceptional individuals who play crucial roles in the success of our schools. These hardworking employees often operate behind the scenes, ensuring the smooth functioning of our schools while contributing to the education and well-being of our students. Twice a month or more, we shine a spotlight on these dedicated staff members, offering our appreciation for their unwavering commitment. Each "Everyday Hero" receives a certificate of appreciation and a distinguished coin from the Superintendent, a token of the district’s deep gratitude for their remarkable service.

The latest honoree is Ms. Amber Jennings, a dynamic STEM teacher at both Harleyville Elementary School and Clay Hill Elementary School. Ms. Jennings is also the Director of the 21st Century Program and was recently awarded the prestigious Bosch BEST Teacher Grant, an honor recognizing her innovative approach to STEM education. The grant aims to provide hands-on, engaging STEM education to students, fostering excitement and curiosity about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Thanks to Ms. Jennings’ dedication, students across the district are gaining opportunities to explore these fields in creative and inspiring ways.

What sets Ms. Jennings apart is not just her expertise in STEM but also her unwavering commitment to Dorchester School District 4. After gaining international teaching experience in Dubai, Ms. Jennings made the conscious decision to return to DD4, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and a global perspective. Her return speaks volumes about her dedication to the district and her passion for providing exceptional education to her students.

In addition to her outstanding work in STEM education, Ms. Jennings is known for her willingness to help others and her collaborative spirit.
