Dorchester School District 4 is thrilled to announce the grand opening of Woodland Middle School, a cutting-edge facility enhancing educational and athletic opportunities for the community.

The project, which started four years ago, has resulted in a modern institution for up to 700 students, featuring state-of-the-art technology. Principal Benjamin Kennedy is excited to lead, emphasizing the school's potential for program growth, including dance.

The school consolidates

programs from St. George Middle and Harleyville-Ridgeville Middle, offering a comprehensive curriculum and a full sports program. Superintendent Jeffrey Beckwith praised the collaborative effort behind the project, highlighting the dedication to providing a top-notch learning environment.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, registration for the new school year began. Woodland Middle School opens on August 8th to over 400 students, ready for a promising academic year.
