WMES Student showing off her art work

January 13-17, 2025, was a GREAT week for our fifth graders! Under the direction of Ms. Gina Bean from Engaging Creative Minds, students planned and created three-dimensional puppets to represent famous African Americans who played an important role in the Industrial Revolution.

Students researched their historical figures and brought them to life through character creation (puppets). Writing was included to record their findings about each African American's life and contributions. The students will use their puppets to present their research during the school’s Black History Month program in February.

It was an ENGAGING week!
